Florida Pre-Paid Problem? Help!

I just got a voicemail from my advocates at Take Stock in Children which uses the Florida Pre-Paid STARS program to pay my college tuition. They have my award letter but I’m already in Tallahassee - they’re eight hours away in Miami. I’m going to TCC and my payment section on EagleNet already includes Florida Pre-Paid hours (60 community college, 60 local, it says). Do need to have my award letter right away, or can this wait?

[I’m more than a little stressed because my high school has failed to send my transcripts for the second time in a row and I believe TCC still has me as out-of-state, which also has to be fixed.]

The benefits are automatically activated in the beneficiary’s projected year of high school graduation. Graduating seniors should receive a letter by March of their year of graduation, followed by an ID card by April. If these documents have not been received, please call Customer Service at 1-800-552-4723 Monday - Friday, 8 am - 6 pm, EST to request them.

Cybermom, this is a different program.

JediSith, I don’t think any of us can answer that. The TSIC program is administered via Fla Prepaid, but unless someone on the board has a child that has used the TSIC/STARS program, we just don’t know. If the payment section on EagleNet already shows 60 hours, you should be OK.

I am sure that they can fax it up, and I AM SURE they will be sure it gets there, much more so that your high school was. Monday morning, just call your advocate in Miami about faxing it just to be safe. But if your payment section shows both tuition and local credit for 60 hours, sounds like you are good to go.

Yep. Phew… Alright, I’ll contact my advocates… Thank you!
