My sons officially applied today!
FSU is their first choice college and dream school for so many years.
They applied EA (is), and for honors.
Fingers crossed for them, and good luck to everyone.

Is Early Action at FSU for Florida residents only?

Yes, EA is for Florida students. Out of state is Dec 1 app deadline and notified Feb 13th. After that, rolling admit.

Those of us who are OOS are jealous that Floridians hear today!

I am seeing in other groups 32700 applicants will get an EA decision today and 71000 applicants so far EA RD and OOS with FSU still accepting applications until March 1st

Sharing more details
I have not verified with school but should be reliable
-12,900 students were accepted for summer and fall (which is a 50% increase over last year’s number). This is a 39% acceptance rate.

-5,5000 were deferred to the Regular Decision round (a 20% decrease over last year’s deferrals)

-6,300 were denied admission

-900 students were offered Seminole Pathways and FSU Next

-Students were admitted from all 67 Florida counties and from 758 high schools.

-Of those accepted, 77% had all A &B grades; 65% had advanced math (calculus)

-The middle 50th percentile range for Summer and Fall admits was 4.3 -4.6 recalculated and weighted core GPA, 1350-1450 SAT, and/or 30-33 ACT. (No separate stats shared for summer versus fall this year).

-The middle 50th percentile range for Deferred students was 4.0-4.5 GPA, 1240-1310 SAT, 26-28 ACT

-700 students earning AA degrees in high school were admitted during this EA round

-Deferred students will receive a Deferral Reply form due by January 10. They will have an opportunity to supplement their application with a “Why FSU” video (how cool is that?) or a written statement, update their SSAR (SSAR update is not due by January 10 as they know that not all first semester grades will be ready by then), add additional test scores, and update activities, honors, etc, if applicable. They will also have the opportunity to opt into a different entry path such as Summer start and/or be considered for Pathways if they would like to also be considered for those.

-Scholarship offers will come out today as well.

Thank you so much for this information. I am a little confused on the denial number. Your first post indicated 6,300 were denied but if you subtract the admitted, deferred, pathway from the EA number its 13,400. Or maybe I am reading it incorrectly?

First post was unverified
2nd are screenshots that FSu released

Looks like the denial rate is higher

I left first post the advance math and A/B tates checked with FSU released data

So actual denial rate 32700 decisions minus 12900 accepted plus 5500 deferred and 900 pathways so about 13400

Thank you!

was very glad that my son received a pathways spot. FSU was his #1 choice and their study abroad programs was one of the main attractions.

Looking ahead and crossing my fingers that S25 OOS gets admitted. Does anyone know when admitted student events are in the spring? We are in CA so want to think about it, just in case.

Thanks.

A post was merged into an existing topic: Florida State Class of 2029 Official RD Thread

we are OOS and hoping to get it. DD isn’t interested in Summer Start but I am worried it will hurt her chances. She has a 34 superscore (32 composite) and a 4.62/3.83. Good essay, decent EC. Hospitality major-- thoughts on Fall acceptance and no summer?
