I was thinking about growing a plant in my dorm to add a splash of color and a bit of life, but the last time I grew a flower was about six years ago, so my knowledge is limited. Can anyone suggest something that grows well indoors, blooms all year long, and has a purple or blue flower? (I’ll have a window in my room, however, I’m still trying to discern which wall its on.) I’m also open to other colors if they’re colorful. The ones I was looking at were peace lilies and lavender, but I don’t think lavender blooms yearlong.

What about orchids? There are a few different kinds and they’re all beautiful

I would suggest a couple violet plants, they are great indoors, bloom frequently, and are pretty easy to take care of (don’t overwater). There are lots of great colors available.

Peace lilies make great indoor plants, but they have a white bloom. They can get pretty big after awhile!

Also, a kalanchoe plant would be a nice choice, they are great indoor flowering plants and come in lots of colors, including lavender.

I’d look into cacti that have flowers. I know a lot of people last year that had cacti…just not sure how much they bloomed and if their particular ones bloomed at all
