Flunked out of College

Hi guys, I flunked out of a prestigious 4 year college last year. My gpa is less than 2.00. My school allows me to return to teh the school as long as i take some classes at my local CC and I do well in them. Pride wise, I would like to return and show myself that I can graduate from the school. I feel like i can, just didn’t really try to study hard the first time around. Do you guys think I should try to take some classes at my CC and transfer out to another college, so that my gpa can be better? Has anyone done this before?

I think you should go to the CC. You have to show whatever your next college is that you have figured out what happened and can do well in college.

I think you should figure out what went wrong last time. You say you didn’t study hard,…but why?
Health, mental health, relationship issues? Too much sports/partying/Clubs/videogames?
Feeling like what happens if you try your best but still don’t do well? Too much freedom/executive function issues?

Then after a semester of CC, think about how you are doing and what you want. I have a friend whose son started at Cornell. He was very into the robotics program, but not into his school work. He was also told to take classes elsewhere for a year. After a year he went to a local 4 year college and finished there. He now works in robotics at Amazon.
