Flying to Philly this weekend, how's the weather?

I am planning on still warmish temps for the weekend. On this trip I won’t see any of the sites. Hopefully on the next one. Well, maybe Valley Forge which would be so cool! But I hope it will not be cool. Anyways, this is my first time in Pennsylvania to boot.

Spectacular!! Mostly sunny, in the 70s during the day and cooler at night. Valley forge is wonderful if you can get there!

Thanks, sounds good. I have heard we may visit the Audubon Sanctuary for sure. If you had a pick, should I press for Valley Forge or not?

I will be staying in that neighborhood, outside of the city. What do I know.

Well it depends on your schedule and interests. I assume you’re going to the Audubon center at Mill Grove, which is literally a mile or two from Valley Forge. VF is gorgeous to walk thru, you can see the huts the soldiers used, there is a beautiful chapel to tour, and a nice visitors center.

If you are a history buff you can’t miss it. You can see the house Washington managed the troops from during the encampment. The park has paths to walk, bike, sightsee etc.

I havent done Audubon for a few years but I think it’s pretty well done to. Will you also get into the city?

Agree, weather is outstanding right now! Valley Forge is pretty cool, but Philadelphia proper is even better. - [Things to Do in Philadelphia, Attractions | Historic Philadelphia](http://www.historicphiladelphia.org/)

I’m in Philly and its gorgeous. Supposed to stay nice, I believe.

I am excited to see a new place, but I won’t make it into the city. :frowning:
Going to a special birthday party for a 90 year old! But I am going to press for Valley Forge.

We were in PA a couple weekends ago, BEAUTIFUL!! We went to Gettysburg vs Valley Forge though (and Philly and a lot of other places for college tours). Bring your camera, photo opps everywhere!

We had the remnants of Issac blow through while we were there so it was a little humid while we were visiting.

Thanks all!

Another spectacular sunny day today in Phila. My husband worked at Valley Forge for almost 20 years – definitely see it if you can!

It’s really gorgeous outside right now - you should have perfect weather!

How was your trip?

Fantastic. Stayed in Audubon and saw Valley Forge on Saturday, a beautiful day. I loved Washington’s headquarters. I love the history of the east coast, all amazing. And such a beautiful area. Saw a huge hawk kill its prey and then just look at us in the back yard since so close to the bird sanctuary.

Oh yes, the volunteers at Valley Forge are inspiring!

Glad you liked Valley Forge. Sometimes I take it for granted. When we give visitors directions and say, “go thru VF park…” they usually say, " like Washington and the revolution?" and I remember again how much history is here.

I think Valley Forge is one of the most incredible places in the country. I grew up hanging out there on weekends with friends, besides all the school trips, etc. I go there often. It’s inspiring and beautiful.
