I understand that FOCUS is a great program and whatnot. But I intend to double major in economics and Chinese, while getting a concentration from market and management. If I do FOCUS, will I be able to complete all three fields of study?

It’s possible… I plan to double in bio and public policy with a minor in music, and I did FOCUS. It’s much easier when you have AP credit.

I did FOCUS, and I’m going to be doing the whole Econ/Chinese double major. I would give you the advice to pursue what your interested in. If you want to do FOCUS, then go ahead and try it. For the most part, if you plan carefully, you can usually fit in whatever courses you need into your schedule over 4 years. Also, doing the markets and management cert. may be overkill if you’re just worried about getting a top business job at graduation. I would only do it if you really are just purely interested in those classes. The econ major will easily sell you to employers. I feel like Duke offers such a wide variety of courses that you should consider exploring other interests (i.e. art history, biology, theater, whatever piques your interest) as well.
