Hello everyone. I’m faced with a small dilemma.

Someone in my Chances thread suggested I focus on one of my essays on my EC Solar Cup. Basically, my teammates and I engineer/build a solar powered boat and race it during an annual competition in Riverside county in CA. We spend roughly 4 hours a week on this project and placed 3rd in Rookie’s division for this year’s competition.

More specifically, I’m the co-treasurer/public relations representative for the team. My partner and I negotiated sponsorships with HSBC banks, World Springs for Life Foundation, and REI to accumulate over $2000 dollars for club expenditures.

The CC member commented that this EC is very unique since it’s not quite offered everywhere. However, my current Stanford supplementary essays and my personal essay are focused on EXPRESSING ME in a creative manner. If I decide to focus on Solar Cup, I’ll express it in a creative manner as well of course.

Which essay would be more profound for my admissions chances? Expressing ME or emphasizing an activity? If it matters, I am NOT going into engineering (which seems to be the likely focus for such an EC).

THANK YOU EVERYONE.
