I am currently an undergraduate at Cornell U trying to decide what path to take my last three years here in the the Engineering Physics Department. I am wondering if there is any major advantage in concentrating in one particular area, say minoring in Computer Science, as opposed to stopping at the intermediate level and using free space to explore other topics such as optics/nano/other physics.

Is this “focused” concentration even necessary (I am looking towards grad school), or is it just as acceptable/desirable to have a broader concentration (say some applied physics and some Com Sci, as opposed to all of one or the other)?

Any thoughts?
