focusing on research and GPA: how am I doing?

I’m planning to take 15.0 credit hours (5 classes) at my school this fall. Along with that, I want to be involved in 2 research projects (both of which I hope to receive letters of recommendation). In addition to that, I will work 5 hrs/week delivering newspaper every weekday at 6 AM, because I really need the money to support myself, and that job essentially pays $24/hr so there’s no freakin way I’m letting it go. I’m an international student paying instate tuition, and I couldn’t get FA or scholarships, mostly because I’m chinese, and I’m paying instate tuition… and I don’t have malignant cancer or anything like that.

Of my 5 classes, 2 can be taken pass fail, so I can take the harder of the 2 classes p/f, and try to get an A on the other one. If not, then I’ll take both of them p/f. (they’re religion classes).

My priority right now is to focus on research and my GPA, which stands somewhere between 3.5-3.6 (not good for international Chinese guy). I’m a 3rd year, and I plan to graduate 1 semester early so that I have the chance to use my OPT to do an internship or something before I go to graduate school. Graduate school is not a final decision. I will need to research more on whether or not it’s right for me.

advice please

P.S. how many letters of rec should I get?
