<p>thanks, but I’m nowhere close to finishing mine … just thought I’d share an excerpt of a college essay from one of America’s top scholars as a little inspiration.</p>
<p>I don’t think it was meant to be sarcastic. Gates wrote this as a kid obviously, at a time when the racial atmosphere was much different that it is today … he later said that he was embarrassed by the brashness of his essay, but he got in and went on to become one of America’s most renowned scholars, so I guess it worked.</p>
