food history & culture

I know there’s a MA program in Food Anthropology at SOAS in London, U of Barcelona offers a program in History & Culture of Diet, and the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Italy offers Gastronomy & Food Communications. but are there any similar graduate programs in the US?

You’ll find that sort of thing under Anthropology in US schools as well. At the PhD level that would typically be one of 3 or 4 “concentrations” that are part of the full program.

For example, Indiana University has something:

[Anthropology at Indiana University: People](http://www.indiana.edu/~anthro/food_flash.html)

Your best bet is to talk to your professors and keep current by reading the appropriate journals - the schools you’ll want will become obvious once you see who’s doing research in the area that interests you.
