I wonder if it’s regional - different products in different zones of the country. This is ours in Tennessee - edit - was responding to @leftrightleft and yes to @ucbalumnus we do have to stir. Thanks
We learned a great pineapple hack. Put the pineapple upside down (leafy end down) in a container like a flower vase. The pineapple ripens up pretty evenly in 3-4 days.
Their gluten free cookies are awesome.
Same here. Costco organic PB is only 2 ingredients.
Same with my Kirkland peanut butter. It does come in a 2 pack. We also buy the Kirkland almond butter when I’m not feeling like making my own. I’m not opposed to the flavor of Jif or Skippy but I no longer buy them as I don’t want the ingredients.
On the rare occasion that I do the traditional 7-hour Bolognese, I only use Cento San Marzano tomatoes.
Barilla pasta (we stock up when it goes on sale - recently 10/$5 and 10/$10)
Pasta sauce from the garden - cherry tomatoes even in January! We live in such an amazing place.
Strawberries from the local Farmer’s market most weeks of the year.
Kroger 7 grain bread - part of breakfast.
(edited to add) Eggbeaters - I prefer the taste/texture
This is not food. I am never going to buy another store brand ziplock sandwich bags. I rammed into a door jamb in the middle of the night early this morning, my face swollen up. I made an icepack in a store brand ziplock bag. It was leaking all over. Fished out an old GLAD ziplock bag from my travel bag. A leftover from the days when you had to cram liquid into a 16oz bag. Still working water tight.
As for pasta, I get Seggiano.
That’s the Costco organic. Their regular peanut butter has the other ingredients
I wish Costco sold natural chunky peanut butter, dd21 eats so much of it, and the ones from the grocery store are so tiny.
Probably a regional type thing. It’s the only Costco PB I’ve seen - that and the JIF.
My dad’s house in LV - he gets different products than we do on some items.
I generally agree with you on the Ziplock bags. One other good one is the Amazon brand ones. Also more economical!
I’ve bought and split a quantity of ziplock bags from Costco when they are on coupon. It seems to last forever in our kitchen as we tend to use other storage containers most of the time.
I also like peanut butter + chocolate type ice cream, so I was surprised to have such a negative reaction to the Tillamook Campfire Peanut Butter Cup. While Tillamook Chocolate Peanut Butter is not my favorite brand for the flavor, it doesn’t have the same problems as Campfire Peanut Butter. I suspect the issue relates to Campfire primarily using peanut oil instead of actual peanuts or peanut butter cups. Tillamook Chocolate Peanut Butter, Haagen-Dazs, and numerous others don’t do this and instead primarily use actual peanuts for the peanut butter flavor.
Thank you, I’m out of gallon bags and just ordered some from Costco.
Thx, that’s the difference. I don’t eat it, my DH does. Next time I’ll look for the organic.
Look for Costco organic peanut butter. I’ve seen that in every Costco I’ve been to. That’s the one with just peanuts and salt.
Now I want ice cream. ![]()
I bought three pints of ice cream this week. I only eat sweets on the weekend. This thread has been putting the idea in my mind to just have a bite.
Well, Safeway has Ben & Jerry’s on sale this week for just under $5/ pint, both dairy & non-dairy versions. I know that’s not so cheap but a decent price here in Honolulu.
