I have nothing food related…am I okay?

Yes 10char.

Make sure in your essay you convey why you want to study food science and it would help if you had something in it about what is driving you towards food science. The food science program is great, but if you like math…there are only 3 math requirements, Calc I, II, & Statistics for the program.

Okay, I will do my best to convey it. I love cooking. I cook dinner almost every day for my family of four as a start.

I happen to have a lot of math because my school has few clubs, and these are the few I could find. No science, chemistry, or anything. Would taking a cooking elective help at all? Because I have AP Chem and Nutrition and Wellness.

Only take a cooking elective if you want to take it for yourself. Most who apply to the food science program will be more than qualified…you need to set yourself apart in your essay. That is what I was told before I applied, and that is what I did. My essay showed that I understood what food science is…and why I wanted to study it. Suggest you research what food science really is and work it into your essay, along with the fact that you love cooking…be yourself and it will show. Good Luck!

Is it absolutely essential to take statistics for Food Science?
darn…didn’t pick that for this year…
are there any other classes that are essential?
