Football Away Games

Hey, I was wondering if there are watch parties or something for the away games for football, what is the best place to watch the away games?

There are official Cal alumni tailgates for select games if you are attending in person.

It is arranged that the band and cheerlead/dance teams come in, usually at a bar.

If you are in Berkeley and want to watch away games, then there is no official events for it except arranging yourself or find someone who is organizing one. Most bars would turn on the Cal game.

If you are watching from outside of Berkeley and if you happen to live close to one of the Cal Alumni chapter in the cities listed (https://alumni.berkeley.edu/community/alumni-chapters/join), then there should be event notices for every football game to meet and watch together.

@UpMagic I’m going to be an incoming freshman, do people usually have stuff like this in the dorms? What good places around campus usually show the game?

In the dorm downstairs where the TV is at, hopefully with the right channels or someone with streaming service, is a good spot. If you find other freshmen during the first home game and arrange to meet up for the next away game at whichever dorm building, then that should be a nice party.

I also liked to go to La Val’s Pizza on the north side and watch the game there and chat with people. As far as going to a bar, I guess you can worry about it later.

If you care bit less about people interaction, then you can occupy a nice conference room w/ big projector screen with liquid refreshment.
