Football@JHU

I played freshman football in hs and got injured during spring football. I never got back to the game. However, I was hoping to find a place to play in college; I was hoping MIT but was rejected. So, how good is Hopkins football team? Is there anybody out there on the team? I hear that they are DIII; are they competitive? Do sports take up a lot of time at JHU (not counting lax)?
Thanks

Hopkins football is awesome. They were 10-1 2 years ago and won the regional championship. This year at 8-3 was the first year they made the NCAAs but lost in the first round to Theal. They need good players so make sure you come!. I see alot of football players in my bme classes. Doesn’t look like that much of a commitment but im sure they do have tough practices.

football is good at Hopkins…albeit DIII, still very competitive. It will be tough to walk on only having freshman HS football experience, but it is possible. Talk to the coaches–find their emails on the website: jhusports.com.

Why not try a few other sports too, like track n field?

Yes! That is very encouraging. From personal experience, were hopkins football players and track athletes superstars in hs?

I agree with PalmBeach that walking-on to the Football team will be difficult as most of the players are supported recruits. It is not impossible – actually the Men’s Lacrosse team even has a walk-on this year. It never hurts to contact the coach in advance.

If DIII Football at Hopkins is not in the cards though there is still intramural sports as well. Or just tossing the football on the Beach during a nice spring day.

Hey, yeah, I was one of those athletes. I’m coming to play next year at Hopkins. Football is still very serious and but people still walk on even up to the I-A level, it’s just a matter of how much work you’re willing to put into it.

Wait, I don’t quite understand you Stinkous. Are you a current walkon or future walkon at JHU? For football?

Nooo, I was one of the recruited athletes to play next year.
