Football weekends-where to stay?

Both the Days Inn (State College) and the Atherton Hotel are right off campus. The nice thing about these two hotels is that you can walk onto campus and it is fun to be able to walk through town to check out the eateries, stores, etc. without worrying about parking. Staying at either of these two hotels will give you a real feel for the campus and ‘campus’ town.

From what I remember, the campus tour originates at the Shields Building. This building is located on the opposite end of campus from town. When you schedule your campus visit, you will be able to download a parking permit which will allow you to park near Admissions (Shields Building). Depending on your arrival schedule, you may even be able to keep your car at the hotel and catch one of the bus loops to Shields.

There are also many other choices near campus, including 2 Hampton Inns, Motel 6, Super 8, etc. All of these are clean and comfortable. However, staying at these hotels will not give you the same flavor of the town as staying at the Days Inn or Atherton.
