Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and was just hoping someone could help me decide between these two schools, preferably someone who has attended or is currently attending either of these schools could share their opinions on the matter, although I welcome anyone to give their input if they have some knowledge they’d like to share…I really can’t decide where to go between these two schools in terms of transfer rates and reputation. One second I hear DeAnza is way better then Foothill, and then the next second someone is telling me DeAnza is worst and that Foothill is definitely the place to be when it comes to these sister schools. If it helps it all I am wanting to major in computer science with a minor in business, and am looking at transferring to University of Washington, although some other private schools are on my mind…what do you guys think? DeAnza or Foothill?

What is it you’re looking for in a CC? Anything specific?

After my wife got her BA she went to DA for about 1 year to get her ABA accredited Paralegal certificate there. I’m currently taking Summer classes there and will be going full-time in the Fall.

Both can equally get you where you want to go. FH is in more of a rural setting and overall less students attend there so it may be easier to get classes there as a new student since registration is in order of how many units you have. DA is more urban, but definitely bigger so they’ll offer more classes on that campus.

Some students apply to both so that if there is a class they need/want at DA, for example, but DA is not offering it for that term they have the option of going over to FH to get it. It’s inconvenient to drive back and forth if you have classes the same day at both locations, however.

Also, a lot of professors teach at both campuses during the same term since they’re employed by the parent entity FHDA. For example, a professor I have now taught at DA for a couple years a few years ago. Then, he taught soley at FH for a few years and now has a MW class at FH and a TTH class at DA.

I’m closer to DA, so I prefer to go there, but if distace is the same for you, then I would suggest applying to both and then see which classes you want have already filled up come registration time and decide to go where you can get your classes, or the majority of them.

Neither campus has a TAA with UW, so again it doesn’t matter in that respect.

If it comes down to the wire, flip a coin.
