<p>Perhaps I've overreached myself at the very beginning, as the score makes my efforts seem more audacious than daring. But interest is difficult to rein in. Anyway, in light of my foreign background, will the admission officers adopt a dual standard and pick up the bright spots in a not so decent percentile?</p>
<p>I seriously doubt if my feckless attempt in lit would ruin the perfection of my other two subjects.</p>
