Plus your high school GPA (sorry for asking so much)

I am just wondering what scores make you got in. If possible, please state other colleges that accept you too.

I am so unconfident now. I will be a senior this incoming year. I have taken 2SATs: got 1750 and 1780. I know they are horrible. I also have taken 2 prep classes: one before first SAT and one after.
However, I got a 780 on my 2nd Math SAT. But I scored poorly on Reading and Writing. I plan to take an ACT by the way.

I guess my GPA is pretty good. IDK
unweighted: 4.0
weighted: guess 4.1

You need to take the prep process into your own hands. SELF-STUDY because prep classes pretty much don’t do anything IMO unless you get a private tutor who can customize the course to fit your needs (REALLY expensive). So, get the official SAT study guide by collegeboard and the official class at collegeboard.com ($60). Do EVERY single practice in the book and the website will grade them for you. Look at everything you’ve done wrong and learn from your mistakes. This should bring your SAT score up at least 200 points which is what you need for UCLA (cuz your GPA is perfect).

3.89/4.24
28 ACT
Good essays and strong ECs are a big part of admissions, as you can see.

My friend got in with a 4.1 and a 1550 and a few ECs. he was also a minority.
My other friend got denied with a 4.1, 2100, and lots of ECs. He was white.
You never can tell with the UCs.

^I know a minority that got in with an SAT score below the national average (which is around 1500, I think), and I don’t believe his GPA was that good. He had decent ECs.

Good essays and ECs can definitely help, but there is nothing more important than a high GPA and SAT scores (especially if you don’t have any hooks)

Just judging by your (lack of) grammar in your OP, you probably are very weak in English. This probably is your biggest impediment to doing well on any SAT/ACT.

Lucky for you though, high school and where you get into undergraduate doesn’t really mean much. If you really want to go to UCLA, its surprisingly easy to transfer in after two years. Given your current stats, I must admit your chances are small, but if you really want to go to UCLA you can just transfer here later.

My Vietnamese friend who got accepted to Berkeley for spring was had a 3.9 UW GPA (IDK about W, but probably 4.3 ish), ranked 6/400, great ECs, but had a 1310 on her SAT.

Yeah, 1310 and IN at Berkeley for spring. Rejected from UCLA though. She’s the lowest I’ve ever seen, and she’s not even a URM.

IMO though, SAT score is usually a pretty good indicator of how one does at UCLA. Most of my friends who have high GPAs, 3.5+, had gotten at least 2100 on their SATs. Those who have low GPAs, like 3.1 and in easy majors like humanities, had low SAT scores like 1500-1700

I hate to say this, but are you a minority? You can probably get into the UCs with a 1700. Oh and also if your parents did not go to college. Other than that, you pretty much just need to get in the range.

GPA: 3.85/ 4.5
Test scores: 32 ACT
Class of 2015

I think I got poor SAT scores on Reading and Writing because I am an immigrant from a country that doesn’t use English. I just came here when I was 14. That’s why I have a hard time understanding passages and tough vocab. I feel most comfortable on Math.
However, I believe strongly that my school’s grades aren’t inflated. This year 2 students from my school got into Harvard. My school is also rated 10 in Torrance, CA. That’s why I belive that my school is tough and it’s pretty difficult to get an A.
