Does anyone think that an early filed CSS, would help a kids chances at EA admittance? If a school sees your ability to pay, will they be more likely to admit, or do they still claim “need blind”? I know that is the big issue with ED schools, that it creates advantage for wealthier kids, but is it the same for EA?

When I first read the subject, my answer was immediately yes, it would make sense… in order to get an offer of FA and know close to what to really expect. However, then I read your actual question and I don’t really have an answer. Though if you believe that “full pay” helps with ED admissions, I would expect the same level of help with EA.

Most schools are need blind so it would not matter. Some schools do have a priority filing date for students applying EA (the schools my DD applied to did) and we sent it in.

If you DO NOT need the aid, it will be clear from the CSS Profile that you don’t (for those schools that are need aware). If you DO need the aid…apply for it. An EA acceptance without aid will not allow you to attend the school if you need aid.
