For, EC...would this be ok?

I want to combine the study of economics and environmental science; yet, I think I don’t have any EC related to economics yet…

So, I have done a few things that might show my interests

NGO for environmental protection; an official translator for 3 years(made a book of 500 pages)

UNEP tertiary member; the presenter for Environmental refugees presentation, a secretary for tertiary member

World Environmental day programme planning team and performance team this year; successful completion

UNEP conference in Japan; representative for my country(will be this summer)

Cathay Pacific’s essay contest for environmental issue; was in four top men in 2006 contest

Cathay Pacific’s essay contest for environmental issue: will be in four top men, may go to Environmental school program abroad as a representative of my country.(will be decided in a few days)

worked for top Fire marshall of Headquarters of my country to investigate foreign cases of pro-environmental institution; took 8 weeks.

translated a regulation document concerned with CARB(California Air Resource Board) for pro-environmental institute inside my country; took 12 weeks

will be working Environmental Policy Agency of my country as an internship; for example, translating documentation of IPCC or climate change conferences in other countries to aid faster policy changes in my country.

I didn’t post other ECs up there. Other ECs include that I have been vice president or president for some clubs or something like that.

So, would this be OK to show what I am??

Well, my dream is being a great person like Norman Myers of Duke university, or an expert at environmental study to participate in IPCC report, something like that.

Pray, give me constructive criticism on this.

You’re kidding, right?

You have aboslutely nothing to worry about. You have high places in contests, your EC’s aren’t random/scattered, and they show commitment.

And for economics, the best thing you can do right now is take classes on it. Unless you can join some sort of economics group/club, or something. But those are pretty rare.

Clearly, you have more than enough ECs, but if you are specifically looking for something related to economics, what about some type of work or volunteering with your local chamber of commerce. (although I really don’t see how you would have time)

I think I just have not to write about the Economics while I submit my admission, well, I don’t know about this,I think I have no time right now, so I have to go for this Environment one,I don’t know,I just want to do something special,

I would apply as an environmental science major and then add the economics in once you get in. No one ever said you have to stick with the major listed on your application. You have amazing environmental ECs. Emphasize that part of you and you’ll have nothing to worry about. If you really want to throw in something about economics, send a rec from your econ teacher or whoever got you interested in econ in the first place.

I read the first and i think you are fine.
