If i get AP chemistry credit (a 5), will i have to take all 4 basic science requirements or just 1 because i place out of chem 101,102,103?

Or do i have to take orgo?

Prospective IEMS major…

You will only need one basic science requirement, and you will definitely not have to take orgo (i don’t think it counts as a basic science requirements, but don’t quote me on that)

Most IEMS majors take physics 135-2,3 for the basic requirements

IEMS has rather flexible basic science requirements. Go check the website and you may not even need to take any physics/chemistry, depending on how they count the AP toward the requirements. FYI, orgo isn’t the only chemistry class after general chemistry. Physical chemistry (topics like thermodynamics) is one example.

I’d suggest you to take as many programming classes as possible if you care more about practicality.
