For fun..what kind of home can you buy for 1 million in different areas

Nice property on Lake Minnetonka:

Oh, I love that loft, Consolation!!!

maindenMom, that is some pool in Cypress.

Consolation, the property on your last link is amazing. However, I am a sucker for waterfront, so I’d probably go for the one on Talbot road. :)

Yeah, that Talbot Rd house is pretty awesome!

Consolation:That loft in Portland…I only want it if they throw in the pulpit. I have a big picture of me giving H the weekly honey-do list from up above. Brings new gravitas to “she who will be obeyed”.

We live without do-lists. We feel lucky if we remember to compile the list before big trip to Costco. This is the only list in our house. Everything else goes into waiting list (does not physically exist, only in our brains) to hire for whatever chore needs to be done and most of it get forgotten and not done. Hard to keep focus on a house anymore especially that we are not there most of the time.
But you can buy a mension for $1 mln in our area, actually can buy a mencion for .5 mln. I just would not spend my $1mln on a house.

^^^^ I want what she’s having!

Just a mile or two from my own house.(I used to lust after this listing)…but someone grabbed Upton Sinclairs old digs for $1.1 mil:

Maidenmom, Lol…

DH makes his own honey do lists :D. He says we’ve worked too hard to buy our home to not take very good care of it. But it’s not just an investment to us, it’s a sanctuary. We recently sold our last home 15 years after building it. We invited a realtor out to view it and make recommendations for anything we should do before listing. She said she had never seen such an immaculate property prior to selling. DH’s attention and devotion to maintenance paid off when we sold quickly and for more money than bank appraisal value. To each his own, but we like lists. ;)

I have had 30 years of the hollow eyed “but you didn’t write it down” look.
Thus the list.

^^^^^Too funny! :D

In MY S.F suburb of the east bay

[7638 N Meridian Rd, Vacaville, CA 95688 - Zillow](<a href=“Real Estate & Homes For Sale - 18547 Homes For Sale | Zillow”>http://www.zillow.com/homedetails/7638-N-Meridian-Rd-Vacaville-CA-95688/2124344638_zpid/)

The house is 3.5 k square feet but…

“The horse facilities include large hay barns, 90 x 190 covered and lighted arena, irrigated pastures, tack room and equipment workshops. Too much to list. Open land for hay too. There is also an operating saddle shop full of inventory (not included) to continue on the tradition of the Buckeye Ranch. The land consists of two legal parcels. Make this your dream ranch and/or operate a full equestrian center.…”

okay, that was listed at 1.9 mill, but I liked the picture of the horsey…

Shrinkrap, lol.

The horses look nice.

Can’t see much of the house.

I don’t think that’s an accident.

I noticed the lot is “125 square feet” and it’s been listed at the same price for at least two years.

This one is down the road from me, and has been for sale for about 10 years.

<a href=“Real Estate & Homes For Sale - 18547 Homes For Sale | Zillow”>Real Estate & Homes For Sale - 18547 Homes For Sale | Zillow;

$2.9 mill now, and the listing says

“Bathrooms:1 bathSingle Family:1,700 sq ft
Lot:2,221,560 sq ft
Year Built:1995
Last Sold: Aug 2006 for $1,000”

…local lore says that was quite a story…

Ok… Something is a little weird there.
