<p>Personally, I think guys should drink it straight up, without copouts like Dr. Pepper or lemons. Where’s the sense of accomplishment from downing a shot of tequila?</p>
<p>i agree, except for those 180 proof drinks like everclear…you’d have to be a hardcore drinker to not need a chaser for that.</p>

<p>i think chasers are all (ok maybe not ALL) psychological. people think they need it, or they expect the drink to taste horribly. but really, it’s not that bad. the tingling/burning sensation is nice. there’s also a cetain way to drink shots so they don’t hit the wrong part of your mouth and taste ridiculously bad.</p>

<p>People who chase certainly don’t annoy me; I just think they should get over it. After you get a little buzzed, everything begins to taste better anyway.</p>
<p>But who else is annoyed by those people who say they don’t like beer, though they enjoy coolers and hard stuff? IMHO, a drinker’s not a drinker unless they can enjoy a good sixpack.</p>

<p>well, i hate beer. even the “good” kind. i’d much rather have shots than beer. but mixed/tropical (ie “girly”) drinks are the best. they can be strong, yet taste great…or not that strong and taste great. win win.</p>
<p>the only thing that bothers me is people who INSIST on having a chaser. If there’s a bottle of OJ around, and you want to chase, regardless of gender, i don’t care. If we can’t do shots untill someone runs down to the mini-mart to get some juice, then I’m going to get annoyed.</p>

<p>I don’t mind having a chaser around or not. I don’t see what the point of proving what a man you are by drinking (and chasing is)… obviously I like to drink, and obviously I think I’m a dude, but I don’t think there’s a reason to get macho about it. If I’m at home and we’re taking shots and we have some OJ around or I’m already drinking a beer, I don’t see why not if it’s already out. But if I’m out at a bar or somewhere else and there’s not chaser, it’s not really an issue either. The taste will go away in a second anyway.</p>
<p>I only drink water to keep hydrated. It saverd me from a hangover after having 8 shots of Stoli in an hour. :)</p>
