"It all depends on the girl, I guess. Some girls will like to talk to you a lot and ask you questions (all the magazines that tell you how to meet guys say “ask him questions”), but others won’t be able to say a word to you. The latter doesn’t necessarily have to be the shy type, either - they just really hope that you will like them back and are scared of saying the wrong thing. And yet another, completely different category of girls just act absolutely normal around you, even if they like you - they try to act normally so you won’t possibly suspect their feelings.

So, all considered, it’s pretty hard to know if a girl likes you. If you want to go out with her or something, then your best bet is to ask her. The worst thing she could say is “no”, and you won’t get a date with her - but then that’s right back where you started, because she won’t go out with you if you don’t ask. At least if you’re brave and ask her, then you have a 50-50 chance of dating her. Maybe she will genuinely like you back: after all, she might be having the same problem, obsessing over whether or not you like her. Anyway, all I can say is that if you don’t tell her your feelings, you’re never gonna know unless she tells you first. There is no surefire way of knowing whether or not a girl likes you except for asking.

If you want her to like you, be nice to her, but gradually! It will look really weird if you suddenly are acting like her best friend! Anyway, being nice, just basically acting like the wonderful person you are will get you somewhere. In my opinion, the worst mistake a guy can ever make is to be kind of mean to the person they like. There is a guy who used to like me who kept poking me and being annoying. And another guy persistently said “Am I handsome? Am I? Am I? I’m so handsome, aren’t I?” I’m pretty sure that you won’t be that stupid, but I’m just making sure…"
