<p>I’m a high school senior and I plan to contact professors at a local state university asking about possible research or internship (unpaid) positions over the summer. How much would the professors expect me to know about their research and/or lab procedures? I will have taken AP bio, chem, and physics by the end of the school year, and I’ve also done science fair work at the lab. However I’m definitely not an expert at whatever they’re doing. </p>
<p>So, basically, how much am I expected to know? </p>
