Congrats! You sold when the market favored you.
We sold in an era of slow sales- finally accepted the only offer only to have another one after the deadline. We refused to replace the 20 year old roof that was fine (even had two layers originally done by builder) except where I chipped at ice over the garage doors. The buyer had replaced the roof of the house he sold and was obsessed about it. We even let the insurance agent look at it (we were many states away by then) and no, no hail damage (knew there was never a hailstorm). We had a contractor do some repairs a few years before selling and I knew there were some potential issues still left. But the buyer had his roof obsession and wasted the ten days over that. He also got the house for a low price- he got to pay higher tax rates and couldn’t appeal them because we had just had them lowered.
No house is perfect- when you are selling you become acutely aware of problems.
My niece sold her house above asking in a different WI city so she could build. Five offers the first day on the market and they could have had 19 showings that week. But they accepted a price and no more keeping it clean. They need an apartment for the few months before their house is done (started the new one-digging… when old one sold). Her choices reflect her mid 30’s age and current colors to a degree. I saw online models and am glad she also disliked the industrial look pendants… She is going with antique brass/bronze doorknobs. One of the things we did here (me actually) was to get rid of antique brass knobs and put in nickel levers (old house circa early '90’s had bright brass levers).
