<p>Are you guys going to even bother applying anywhere else or are you just going to stay put with Harvard? I was not informed until several days ago that I qualify for fee waivers so after some thought, I decided I might as well apply to other schools.
My list: UVA, Yale, Princeton, Northwestern.

<p>If you like fee waivers for online apps, look into Colgate.</p>
<p>Ask yourself very carefully why you would apply to more schools. If it is merely because you qualify for a fee waiver, why waste the time of the admissions representatives? Are you applying because you need more financial aid than Harvard is offering and want to compare financial aid/merit scholarship offers? That’s a good reason. If you’re applying as a trophy hunter, i.e., how many of these hot schools can I get into? but still planning on going to Yale, don’t. The other kids applying have enough competition and the admissions officers have enough work to do.</p>

<p>NO G8 SN, Stanford’s deadline was December 15, however. Does that mean you applied there before finding out your results from Harvard?</p>
<p>I’m not completely decided yet on all of my other apps, but I know that I’m dropping Wash U, Emory, Princeton, Wellesley, and UPenn. I’m still considering Duke, Columbia, and Yale, but I think I’ll probably drop all three in February. I’m almost completely sure right now that I wanna be at Harvard, so I figure that unless something drastic happens I’ll feel the same but stronger in a couple of months. And I’ve got several friends applying to these three schools…and while they have as much of a chance of getting accepted as I do, I also understand that every extra application lowers their chances of getting in, and personally I would feel awful if I got accepted and they happened to get rejected, ESPECIALLY if I knew I wanted to go to Harvard anyways. Not that I’m berating anyone who’s keeping applications in…I understand completely wanting to keep options open. but if you already know 100%, you’re completely sure that Cambridge is where you want to go…don’t keep the other apps in just to rack up the acceptances.</p>

<p>I won’t be continuing with other apps, but I received my Appointment to the United States Naval Academy yesterday. Now my choice lies between Harvard (with $150,000 NROTC-Marine Corps scholarship, cross-registering with the MIT unit), and USNA. I love Annapolis, but I also love Harvard…oh well, at least I have time to think about it. BUt yeah, no more applications for me!</p>

<p>i don’t think i’m applying elsewhere. my only worry is that somehow, harvard will decide to rescind admission and i’ll have nowhere to go. Heh. Honestly, how badly would you have to do in school in order to have your offer rescinded? I’m enrolled in this online math course that’s killing all of my time. wouldn’t mind dropping it

<p>this is also sort of my deepest darkest fear of the week. i want to relax a little–you know, not senioritis galore but stop stressing a little about chemistry or something like that–but i’m petrified of losing this. do most people relax a little after they get into harvard EA? are you guys planning to? how much?</p>

<p>LOL, I think we all have that fear. But there’s no reason to have it. If you’re accepted, and keep up half-decent grades, you’ll be fine…</p>
