So DS has informed me that the Twin XL sheets he used all last year are inadequate. They were t-shirt Jersey (so very stretchy) but did not adequately cover his mattress and various mattress pads/soft bedding. From my initial searching, I can find jersey (but not deep pocket), or deep pocket (but not soft jersey) or deep pocket but not in twin XL.

Any ideas? I am close to buying those suspenders for the sheets and telling him to suck it up, but it is early in the summer and want to keep him relatively happy :)

[Knit Sheet Set or Pillowcase from Lands’ End](http://www.landsend.com/pp/knit-sheet-set-or-pillowcase~199230_1782.html)

While the Lands End jersey sheets may not be advertised as Extra Deep, they should be more than adequate for your picky child. I have a set for our King bed and it easily covers the mattress, a 3 inch memory foam topper, and a mattress cover.

PS–Don’t pay full price. Wait until they’re running a sale. Sometimes 25% off, sometimes 30% off, and sometimes even 40% off one item (which would be one complete set). I think you can sign up to have sale emails sent to you.

Thanks to both of you! I really thought my dorm shopping days were over. I will check them regularly over the summer for the sales.

He doesn’t sound that picky to me. I wouldn’t like it if my sheets didn’t adequately cover my mattress either. :)

The Garnet Hill Sheets are on sale now!

Do you know how thick his stuff is? The person who sold me my bed told me to measure how thick your bed plus pads are, then add three inches to that number. This way you have room after your blankets have been washed a few times and they shrink.

This is assuming that your college kid washes his sheets. :)
