I have a son who is applying to Villanova ED. He is a senior at a Catholic College Prep highschool. He has an ACT Superscore of 32. He has 7 AP classes where he recieved 4 or 5 on all. He is interested in either Business Finance or Engineering. He is a 7 Letter Varsity Athlete and Captain of the Track and Field Team. He has engaged in over 75 hours of service work. He has also tutored more than 15 students including a Gold Winner Science Project. He also runs a small business through ebay that has had significant success. He will also have had one internship before he graduates in May in Finance. I am looking for stats of people who have either gotten into Villanova or parents who have kids that are applying currently. Thank you ahead of time. Oh I forgot, his GPA is 4.1 unweighted and 4.7 weighted…
Here’s the link to the Villanova survey from last year: Villanova RD Results Form 2025
If you go to the Villanova subform you can read through the last view years threads and see the recent stats.
My daughter did years ago, honors, 3.95 uw, 34 act, 9 AP’s, xc/track varsity captain. NHS president, involved in peer leadership at Catholic Church. Too rich for our blood, ended up at UDel.
Here’s the link to last year’s ED thread. Lots of stats listed! Villanova University Early Action / Early Decision for Fall 2025 Admission
You could also do a chance me/match me thread which would give more complete information about your college applicant. Folks will likely respond to that too.
thank you. we are far from rich and I was thinking about the culture. I’m not sure my son has the stats actually…
how do I do that?
Go to the chance me formum: Chance Me / Match Me - College Confidential Forums
Then “create a new thread” (Button on the top right). There will be a template that appears. Just fill that in!
Just to add to @momofboiler1 here is the Common Data Set if you’ve not seen it. They use unweighted but show a 4.1 25th percentile so you’ll have to learn their weighting system for unweighted and match it as most unweighted are on a 4 point - but not theirs.
Only 28% submitted a test - 32 is at the 25th percentile but given so few submit, I imagine it helps.
Yes they have hooked kids but over half applying ED got in.
Far less than half get need aid with very little getting merit. Since they don’t assure to meet need, please make sure you can afford full pop or at least what the NPC says.
Statistically, it seems there’s a decent chance, especially with ED. And the background overall is very impressive. Best of luck.
I assume they’re not being recruited (no shame in that - they’re big time, especially in distance), but can they help the team? May help.
Has your son discussed this with his high school college counselor ?
A Catholic college preschool should have many data points.
I have a sophomore at Villanova CLAS. Our stats were 32 superscore, 11APs, lots of focused extracurriculars, employment and leadership in a specific sport. 3.7 UW/4.0 W. Our weighting system is definitely different than what Villanova reports. I don’t know how they calculate it but for sure ours is different if you look at their stats. For example we can’t have UW higher than 4.0 so I don’t know how they report UW higher than that. Also we don’t give a full point bump for AP (or honors). Anway….My child’s stats were about the “bottom” of what Villanova typically accepts from our highly rated Catholic school. Definitely in range, but at the bottom, and kids with my child’s stats from our school are more often rejected than accepted. Coming from a Catholic school I think it’s important to understand the context of the stats that are typically accepted from your school. Anyway…we applied ED1 and got in. For sure ED helped. One other kid with similar stats was accepted ED from our school that year and two others with much higher GPAs (4.0 UW = max possible) were accepted EA. Among those two, one attends and one went to ND.
So, back to your kid…definitely look at accepted stats from your school. But my gut is that your son would get in to CLAS ED and would be a toss up for the business school. I don’t have a good sense of how hard it is to get in to Engineering vs. Business or CLAS. Probably harder to get Engineering than CLAS.
Best of luck to him and Go Cats!
@amykiley He has competitive stats.
We know about a dozen kids who ended up there. Your DC’s credentials match quite favorably with them.
On the back of other replies here, again, we know about a dozen students between family/friends/select classmates who graduated with our children and attend the school.
All of them are full pay.
