For those who can't wait to hear of their Schreyer result...

I know many like me are waiting to hear if they made the Honors college or not and I hate waiting. So I want to try an experiment. When you log on to My Penn State in the top right corner you see the yellow boxes. One of them is to schedule an accepted student visit. When you click on this you are brought to a calendar. The interesting thing is that when you try to click on an event that doesn’t fit you, it is restricted. For example I was accepted to the Elberly College of Science, if I try to schedule a visit on a day only for engineering students, it says I do not meet the citeria and restricts me from scheduling a visit. As a result, it should also restrict me from scheduling a visit only meant for accepted Schreyer students, but it doesn’t. I do not know if they put up the restrictions yet, but if they have then this may be a preliminary way to find out if you made the Honors college before the mail arrives. The only way to be certain is for those that have got denied to the Honors college to see if they can schedule a visit on that day. Post your results here to see if the experiment works. Thanks.

S just received denial letter, yet he was able to gain access to sign up for “admitted” scholars. So I guess your theory is not quite right. But best of luck to you.

Thanks for the reply. Oh well…looks like I will have to wait.

Probably shouldn’t be doing this, but…

In my acceptance letter, it says you can visit [Admissions: Schreyer Honors College](http://www.shc.psu.edu/acceptance) to accept your Schreyer’s offer. All that you need to have is your name and your My Penn State ID. If you enter this information there and it allows you to proceed, i would assume you are in.

it only asks for first name, last name, and email address and then you choose to accept or not before you continue.

It was such a simple form that I’m somehow nervous I might have messed it up and clicked ‘reject offer’ or typed my name in wrong or something, even though I looked at those 3 blanks like a million times.

sandmitch… did it ask you for anything else have you hit submit?

Nope… that’s why it was kind of weird. I just hit submit and it said “Thank you”… nothing about being enrolled or anything.
