For those who really want to get into Stanford ahead of everyone else...

There aren’t many sure things in life…but, for those who keep asking this question on this forum and others…there is no better way to get an early “yes” ( a year ahead of everyone else…for class of 2019) from your dream school than becoming the top recruited athlete (national/internationally ranked) and being the top academic student…

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/blogs/recruiting/os-tfas-garrett-williams-earns-rare-scholarship-offer-from-stanford-20140207,0,427022:

Moreover…the harsh reality for everyone else…including developmental applicants, faculty-parent applicants, legacy applicants, world class musicians, Intel winners, international Olympiad winners, multimillion dollar app developers…there is no early “golden ticket” or recruiting…you find out like everyone else…either in mid-December for REA or April 1…

This is not really a golden ticket…The scholarship is contingent upon submitting an application and being accepted to Stanford.

^^it is just a formality…when they are offered a scholarship…it means they have the requirements necessary to get in (they have reviewed their test scores, GPA, and obviously their athletic prowess in football)…these individuals usually get their likely letters beginning of the senior year to close the deal…

Lots of top schools give out likely letters. Heck, Harvard sent out 300 in 2011.

Talented people get these so the school can stay in the back of their minds when they’re looking at different schools.
