For upperclassmen: move-in question

For those upperclassmen who has lived in Edens (specifically, Edens 1C) where is/are the unloading zone(s) for the quad (and the building)? Most of the access roads that I can see on the map require some walking from the curb to the buildings themselves.

Yay Edens. Sort of. I guess.

There are a bunch of random parking lots kind of around Edens to park in, but it’s always a challenge to find out how to get to them the first go around, from my experience. If I’m not mistaken there is a fire lane that runs kind of behind 1C, between 1C and the WEL (If I’m thinking of the right Edens…I’m a 3B person so I could totally be mixing 1A/B/and C up). I believe you can get to it via Towerview, but I’m not positive. When you get to campus I’d ask one of the parking attendants what the best location is for you, because there are just a bunch of parking lots/small fire lanes and stuff around Edens.

I’m thinking of just driving up Edens Dr. It ends around the 1C area slightly off to the side. I know the fire lane between Keohane and Edens 1C, but I think that requires going down a set of stairs by the tower and I don’t really fancy doing that while carrying random boxes and trashbags full of clothes.

Ahh, well that’s probably your best bet then. You’ll find somewhere.

Moving into West really sucks for many people…I’m not gonna lie. But atleast you only have to make the trek twice a year.

I think I got most of it figured out. Thank you for your help loveduke22.

I have a question as well (don’t want to hijack the thread, but…), where do we pick up our keys to get into our rooms and check-in and whatnot…? Last year it was just in our dorm common rooms, but because we all move-in whenever we want, is there somewhere specific we have to go?

Gosh! I sound like a clueless freshman again!

Thanks!

Haha. There are designated times, and places for each quad to pick up keys.

That has all the information you’ll need. When you get to the distribution location you’ll get your unloading zone pass (and they’ll probably know the best place to park…yada yada)…and then you can go move in!

Sometimes the line is pretty long, but sometimes it’s not…I’d avoid, you know, 3pm on Thursday because everyone that’s incredibly anxious to get back will be there!
