How often Oxford and Cambridge accept Americans from HS?

I don’t think that it happens too often. I heard that it is easier to transfer from a decent US college than to go straight from HS.

It’s really not easier to transfer. Oxbridge doesn’t do what we would consider transfers: if you apply, you start at the beginning of the course, regardless of much univeristy you might have done. I don’t know if I’ve ever heard of someone transferring in from the US actually.

2011: 20 americans were accepted for undergraduate at Cambridge <a href=“Study at Cambridge | University of Cambridge”>Study at Cambridge | University of Cambridge;

(this seems a bit higher than normal to me just from general experience but I can’t find the data by country for any other year…I personally know of only 6 total for the 2012 admission cycle but I could be missing a few)

They really won’t care about one point. I’m pretty sure Cam doesn’t even look at them and I highly doubt Oxford puts much stake in them either. If you’re really worried, email the admissions people. You self report all of your scores so you can tell them whichever you want. I would check if you really really want to submit the NOT writing one though just to be safe.
