<p>You didn’t list UCSB as one of the schools you were interested in. Was your counselor using it as a “hypothetical” example of a realistic UC reach school?</p>

<p>Of the schools on your list, you look like a match/high match at BU and a high match/low reach at Richmond. All the other schools on your list are (high) reaches, making your list very top-heavy. You don’t have your class rank or approximate decile listed, which would help in giving you some additional feedback. Your EC’s also look a little thin. You need some more match and safety schools on your list, including a financial match and safety. I would think about including UCD, UCI, and UCSC to your list of UC’s because UCB and UCLA are definitely reaches.</p>

<p>I think USC is a low reach but it would depend on your class decile or rank. You should definitely apply because you have a chance and a more realistic one if you are in the top 10% of your class. Best of luck!</p>

<p>I’d say slightly less selective than USC. Stern school of business, however, is highly competitive. Hopefully you won’t need FA because they are not as generous as USC.</p>

<p>At USC all applicants are reviewed the same for the most part (there may be some exceptions like film school or dance), regardless of intended major, before declaring Marshall (business school) for USC at the end of freshman year or thereabouts. I believe at NYU you apply directly to Stern, but hopefully someone more knowledgeable about NYU can confirm this.</p>
