We do not own a late-model Toyota, but I’m taking the half-eaten pack of salami back to Costco and keeping fingers crossed that neither my H nor the dog get sick from tasting eating it (luckily, they have not touched the peppered kind)!

I had a slightly sticky accelerator on my 97 Lexus ES300 (glorified 6 cylinder Camry) and I was trying to fix a stalling problem so I cleaned the throttle body and much to my surprise it also cured the accelerator sticking problem. The throttle body has a flap that is controlled by the accelerator cable, and when it gets covered with carbon it can stick. I would tell this to the Toyota people but they have no mechanism for me to communicate with them. Besides, with their multitude of experience with millions of vehicles you think they would be all over this, unless their emphasis has been on denying the problem exists instead of fixing it.

I didn’t realize that dried spices could carry salmonella. Does this mean that we’ll all have to give up pepper at some time in the future? I could give up paprika, but would have a hard time with pepper.
