Forced to take 4 tests...

I know that taking a fourth ACT is generally frowned upon but I have to because I already took my third and got the score I needed/wanted, but every junior at my school is required to take the ACT on campus during school without writing. (Don’t ask why, no one knows.) Will this hurt me?

I’m in the same situation as you (just took my fourth one in June and had to take a no-writing IL school one in April). I don’t think it would hurt us because the fourth non-writing ACT can’t be accepted at schools that require writing, and it’s not like we had the choice whether or not to take another test. Also if a college doesn’t require you to send all scores could you just send your 3 w/writing scores? Not sure about this. Anyone else have any advice? :)

For schools that do not require all score, just send in the best composite score. Unlike SAT, you need to pay for each test score for ACT. Many schools would allow you to self report other test scores (e.g. Stanford).
