Also received the Fordham Scholarship! I had a section that said I was in the Rose Hill Honors Program, but I think if you chose Gabelli or Lincoln instead of Rose Hill it may look different.

Are you attending Fordham? Can anyone provide information on Fordham University? DD24 got accepted to CS at Rose hill with $30K/year scholarship for 4 years. It still costs $20K/year more than our flagship State school.
Anyone got similar situations and how you make your choices? Thanks!

My S22 is at Fordham and having a very good experience. BUT his situation is not the same as your D24’s. He ended up getting the National Merit scholarship, so his final COA is the same as our flagship would have been. Also he is attending Fordham for a performing arts major. The performing arts, humanities, and business are big strengths at Fordham, but STEM at Fordham is not traditionally strong. If our S22 had wanted to major in CS, we would have had him stay at our flagship instead. If he still really wanted the NYC experience, we would have helped him plan and fund a summer there (either as a formal internship, or just as a regular job. My sibling stayed home to attend our flagship for practical reasons, but one summer got together a couple of friends who all sublet some student housing in NYC while working retail/food service jobs. Great memories!)
Thank you so much for the information. We were expecting a full ride but ended up with 1/2 ride though DD24 is National Merit Finalist. State Flagship offered merit based scholarship. NYC is more fun but the cost difference is too much.

S24 Attended the Gabelli Dean Scholars breakfast today (about 20 students and their parents were invited), they also were doing spring preview day, everyone was super informative and friendly.

Just saw your question. We went for the spring preview event and son decided against it. While the school itself is beautiful, we saw a car (parked right outside the front gate) with windows broken. Apparently someone tried to break in. Given that this happened on a very busy Sunday morning, on the main road, I am concerned about the safety around the neighborhood.
Right now son is leaning toward Umass Amherst or UConn. Not purely for cost reasons, but also because he likes the college town atmosphere better. That makes our decision a bit easier. As a parent, I guess eventually you go where the kid wants to go.
