I’m reading these posts as a father of a S25 who’s getting ready for the next application cycle. If I’m not mistaken, everyone who posted was accepted. I’m wondering if anyone knows of the type of student profile of those who were either not accepted or deferred in the early application period.
Suggest checking the prior years threads (classes of 23,24,25, etc) under Fordham especially threads for decisions which skip the text for yes/no outcomes
Keep in mind EA/ED are skewed to higher acceptance rates nowadays plus Fordham has to accept a lot of students because of low yield. So, a lot will apply, many will be accepted EA/ED, but few enroll.

Hello everyone! My son is an international student…overall it is a good university? we have got mixed reviews
“overall it is a good university?”
It depends on the major. For some majors, Fordham is very strong. For other majors, Fordham is not as strong.
Would you mind elaborating on the mixed reviews - what specifically have you heard that could be a “red flag”. We are in the process of deciding so this information will be helpful.
He applied to global business
For Rose Hill apparently security is an issue.
Food is said to be horrible and quite expensive (the meal plans are much more expensive than NYU)
Also apparently the undergraduate are badly graded the first two years and it is not justified. It is just their «practice » then when they are more confortable and confident the last two years they are less challenged.
Dont get me wrong…my son received admission this Monday in advance (he applied to Lincoln Center) so I all trying to figure out if it is a good academic choice. Some people have said is great but I am sharing comments that I am worried about so that is why I am asking in this forum
We have had several family members attend Fordham including my sister, neices, nephews, and friends. Security is actually pretty good, the food around the area is the great if you like Italian food ( it’s known as little Italy) and everyone we have ever talked raves about how great Fordham is. So I’m confused where you got your information from. Fordham is pretty strong for business, with lots of internship opportunities given its location and strong alumni network.
Fordham’s business program is very strong. Fordham is an excellent choice for business, performing arts (dance, theater etc.) and humanities. It is not as strong in STEM (with the exception of biology which is pretty good) or studio art.
My student (who goes to Lincoln Center) actually likes the food, but it is standard “cafeteria food” and some people do not like that. And I agree it is expensive. In any case, the dorms are apartment style after freshman year, so students no longer have to buy a meal plan, and actually can request to be in the apartment style dorms even as freshman.
As for grades, Fordham seems to be on par with other universities, including experiencing grade inflation in recent years. Average GPA is now 3.5 I believe. Easy A? - The Observer
I’ve never heard this opinion about the grading at Fordham. My son is a junior at Rose Hill and he has found his courses rigorous but engaging and the grading to be fair. He has loved his time at Fordham.
The food has been inconsistent, but the campus is undergoing renovations to the cafeteria and that might bring changes to the menu for next year. After his freshman year, he has lived in an on campus apartment and that cut his meal plan cost in half from freshman to sophomore year.
Thank you for your replies. Do you know is Fordham releases decision on a rolling basis?
Hi! Could you please tell me how do you initiate an appeal to get more merit scholarship ?
I suggest contacting Financial Aid and asking for the appeal form. It’s a digital form and there is a place to upload documents such as offers from other colleges.
Yes, that is the procedure
Thank you….even if you did not apply to Financial aid but would like to get more merit ??
Yes absolutely
That is great! Thank you very much!
Does anyone knows how much is Fordham deposit fee?
May I ask how long does it take to get an answer from Fordham once you submit your appeal form?
Does anyone know if Fordham has sent out Cunniffe scholarship notifications yet?
