Fordham?

I’m a sophomore looking at Fordham, I’m a B/B+ student taking mostly all honors and AP Classes, I play lacrosse for the school, I live in Connecticut, i was born in Mexico, have a good amount of volunteer hour and had an PSAT of 1590 which i assume will only improve. What are my chances of getting into Fordham?

Get your SAT up to around 1800 and you should be in.

[Class Profile](http://www.fordham.edu/admissions/undergraduate_admiss/applying/class_profile_28473.asp)

Since your GPA is a B/B+, and the typical accepted student has an A- average, you will need to score above the median or better yet above the 75 percentile to maximize your chances.

Aim for at least 2020.

The SAT is curved much more leniently than the PSAT, so don’t start worrying too much yet, but practice until you’re hitting 2020.

the sat is curved…?

Correct. Go to the College Board and inquire further about the SAT and how it is scored.

As for Fordham, its highly highly competitive. Fortunately, you are young and have more high school years ahead of you. Its a great school and lots of fun, particularly at Rose Hill.

Fordham will look at all your scores and factors, and if you are a US citizen of hispanic descent that helps.

Its also very expensive. Tuition + Room and Board is now approaching 53k a year before financial aid or scholarships.

Fordham likes community service. My advice on EC’s is instead of picking 7 things you do moderately, pick 2 that you excel. Perhaps one which is about you (theatre, music, arts, sports) and one which is community service oriented.

Work hard. But don’t fret about college too much yet. Just do your best in high school now.
