Does studying overseas for a semester look good on a transcript? What about being an exchange student over the summer? Also, do ALL/majority of college applications ask if you’ve been suspended? Thanks

I don’t know of any college app that does NOT ask if you’ve been suspended. If they don’t ask on the student part, they ask on the GC part. Lying can lead to having one’s acceptance or even college diploma rescinded.

If you have been suspended, what will boost your chances of acceptance would be: writing an explanation about the incident – an explanation in which you take responsibility for your actions and also say what you learned from the experience; a clean track record since, including having recommendations that attest to your character.

Yes, being a foreign exchange student even for a summer can be impressive because doing something like that takes courage, responsibility and independence. In addition, students learn a lot about themselves and the world by doing something like that.

Well, yes it can. The world is becoming more and more connected and international. That’s why it’s always a big plus if someone speaks multiple languages. A semester in another country would help you appreciate the culture of another place and meet people.
