Foreign Language and Honor society?

How much do colleges* look at foreign languages (as if you did 4 years or 3 years and if you reached AP level) and do most colleges have a preference?

Is national honor society liked by colleges* ( if so, how much of an impact will it have)?

*= mostly competitive ones

competitive colleges would like to see some sort of commitment in the area that you’re interested in which in another word, it’s better to take it for 4 years than for 3 years.

National honor society is a plus, can’t really say if it’s “liked” or not.

liu: a constant refrain in your questions seems to be “Is this good thing on my transcript/resume viewed as ‘good’ by colleges?”

The answer to that is ALWAYS – what else can it be? It’s akin to your asking: “Is a 3.9 GPA viewed better by good colleges than a 3.3?”

Your real question should be “is this thing on my transcript/resume valuable to colleges like X, Y and Z?”

Specifically to your questions:

1) 4yrs > 3 yrs. Always. In every circumstance

2) Honor Society. Mostly of no value but some colleges (not very selective ones) have special scholarships.
