Foreign Language Deficiency

Due to scheduling conflicts I wasn’t able to take 11th grade Spanish in grade 11.

I understand that competitive colleges expect to see 4 years of a foreign language… should I make up for this by taking Spanish at the 11th and 12th grade levels next year? Will it even matter?

Please help!

Colleges will not penalize for matters outside your control.

But what does that really mean? I could have taken the course, it’s just that I valued two other courses more and chose them instead.

If I opted out of Honors Math and AP Microecon I could have taken the Spanish course.

Oh. You didn’t make that clear (“Due to scheduling conflicts I wasn’t able to take…”). In any case, however, it won’t make a large difference.

This is still a scheduling conflict. Don’t worry about it. It’s not like you dropped you foreign language to have a triple study hall period!
