<p>I noticed that many colleges require 3 credits in one foreign language to apply but I was wondering what would happen if I have 4 credits in two languages. Would I still be able to apply?</p>

<p>Most colleges that say they recommend a certain amount of years of a foreign language mean that many years in ONE language. Your situation most likely wouldn’t fulfill the recommendation. But remember, it’s just that: a recommendation. </p>

<p>And if they do, I’m not sure about your chances. If it’s a strict requirement, you’re chances may be in trouble. </p>

<p>If it is REQUIRED then you need to be taking a third year of one of your languages at a local cc now.
Also if you take 3 years of one fl then depending on the school and major, you may meet the requirement to fulfill the fl requirement for that major, saving you from taking fl in college.</p>
