To satisfy the foreign language requirement, is it acceptable to take SAT II language test AFTER entering University? I plan to take the test during my freshman year.

I don’t mean to be a ■■■■■, but there’s a language requirement at Berkeley?? Crap…

bummpp plzzz!

I’m not sure SAT II will even satisfy the foreign language requirement. Moreover, all SAT scores were supposed to be submitted before you go into university. Why not take TOEFL or IELTS? Are you by any chance from Korea?

It’s easy to look up what fulfills the foreign language requirement here:
[Office of Undergraduate Advising: Foreign Language](http://ls-advise.berkeley.edu/requirement/fl.html)

Regarding your question, however, I have no clue as to whether you can take the SAT II (classified as “High School Work”) to fulfill the requirement when you’ve already finished high school. You may want to contact the college and ask about that?

I’m almost positive you cannot take an SAT subject test after high school.

From the Princeton Review review on SAT Subject Tests:

When Should You Take Them?
You can take an SAT Subject Test at any point in your high school career. Many take math Subject Tests in the fall of their senior year. Other tests, like sciences and languages, should be taken right after finishing related subjects in school.

Berkeley has some fantastic foreign language classes though! Maybe it would be a good opportunity to explore some of the offerings!
