Foreign Language..

I just watched that video sent to us about the foreign language thing for LSA. I’m going to go to Ross but for the first year, for the foreign language classes, if you decide to take a new language altogether, I’m assuming you can still get an A if you outperform everyone else who is taking it as a new language as well?

Might be an obvious or stupid question but just wanted to make sure because one of my friends said that they might grade you against people who are learning the same language, even if they learnt the language in high school.

go to the my edu .com (no spaces) website and go to Michigan and look at which class you want to take, the average grades. Then you can see the class breakdown. One of my classes for instance had a 3.7 gpa average, meaning well over the majority of people recieved A’s, maybe your intro language class will be the same?

I’m pretty sure there’s really no reason to fret with a language for you.

I’m not sure I understand your question-- are you afraid they’re going to curve the grades? None of my language classes at Michigan did, we weren’t competing for A’s-- no need to outperform anyone. Maybe I misunderstand, or perhaps some language classes are different.
