I took a year of Chinese this year (I’m in college) and I’m transferring over to West Point. I was wondering if anyone knew if West Point would be willing to change my schedule to allow me to continue my Chinese studies my plebe year (I most likely will not be validating any courses).

Also, how in the world do people double major at West Point? Do they validate half their core classes?

why would you need to change your schedule? When they ask what foreign language you want to take just say chinese. I do not think it is possible to double major at USMA, it’s hard enough with just one major.

Rather than copy and paste, you will find information about a double major at that link. It requires validating, advanced placement, etc.

Language begins yearling year. If you validate History it is replaced with Physical Geography (Dirt) and American Politics.

As you will see at the link above, the curriculum varies for each class year as the Academy adds courses, reorganizes majors, etc. Keep that in mind when you read through the Class of 2009 curriculum, that there may be changes for 2010 and beyond.
