Formal vs. Informal Internship

I got accepted to both a formal and informal internship at USC and UCLA, respectively… both is doing research work…

What are the pros and cons? What should I take? suggestions? arghh im so frustrated

thanks!

Formal obviously

What exactly is the difference between the two? Can you do an informal internship and put it on your resume? I know that formal internships usually have deadlines to apply and last like 8 weeks (in the summer), how do informal internships work? What if a firm just offers to let you come in and work for free to gain experience… is that an informal internship

Yeah… formal is like… shown to public… available for everyone to apply… a whole admissions process…

informal is what you said… just schedule an informal interview… if the person likes you… ok you’re in… both can be worked for free… but there is no public announcement of the internship…

comprehendo?

both are the same thing to a future prospective employer? that is what I am wondering.

to college admissions… im currently a rising senior
