former competitive skier needs advice

Hello.

I am ranked 100ish/420 at my high school. I have a 3.71 GPA, (which will be 3.75 for the mid year reports). I am wondering if class rank will be a factor in my case.

I have taken only 1 semester of classes at my high school. For 3 semesters I attended online school, while traveling extensively for skiing competitions. Then I transferred back to my current high school. The past year I have been dual-enrolled at a local CC, and was at one point awarded the highest academic honor by the CC. Anyways, I have a 2320 SAT and great (in my opinion) EC’s from skiing.

Also, if I can get my GC to write something about the class rank not being applicable will that change anything?

I am not interested in fluff or BS. Give me your honest answers so I can gain a realistic understanding of my chances.

You sound like you are a great ski athlete and that you work hard, but I’m lost at what you are trying for.

“Give me your honest answers so I can gain a realistic understanding of my chances.”

Chances for what?

Sorry that last line didn’t make sense. But I am wondering, will my class rank be considered as a factor for top colleges such as UChicago?

Just FYI, U Chicago is one of those schools which tend to not give much extra weight to sports. Your SAT score is fine for any top school but your class rank (top 25%) and GPA < 4.0 are on the lower end of the usual U Chicago candidates. We were told minimum SAT for verbal plus Math had to be 1440. That was rock bottom even for football.
