One of the short questions was a “what are some of your favorite things? (books, music, movies, etc)” question, and I put “A Short History of Nearly Everything” by Bill Bryson. Such a wonderful book, by the way, except that, now I found, that I’d written “The History of Nearly Everything” instead. I can’t believe that I did this. What was I thinking?
So I’ve heard that I can redo a mistake by emailing the admissions office, but you have to risk looking stupid/emphasizing a mistake that might not have been found.
What should I do? Is this minor enough to let it pass?

This is certainly minor enough to let pass. I would not lose sleep and not contact admissions over it. It won’t make a difference in your admissions decision.
